Welcome to Thursday Favorite Things.
This weeks features are sharing repurposed furniture projects.
The past few weeks has been a frenzy of fall decor,
everything pumpkin related….
I’m pretty sure between my posts and Thursday Favs features
we have covered almost every fall home decor related topic.
Thanksgiving decor is basically fall decor, which is just 22 days away!
Wow.. the days are moving by so fast!
One thing we haven’t covered is furniture and quick furniture projects
to tackle before things get really crazy.
I’m talking about those little pieces of furniture that
provide family and friends with places to set their drinks
or a second helping of food long after the table has been cleared.
During the holidays with a home full of guests it isn’t uncommon
to need an extra end table or two or even three or more.
Don’t go getting all wide-eyed McCrazy on me…
I know how some of ya’ll get about seeing Christmas earlier than you would like.
Remember, I am a blogger which means I do things a lot earlier than even I would like.
I want to talk about this vignette
because it’s a piece of furniture that I use every single day.
When she isn’t being used hide my unattractive fireplace she sets next to the sofa.
This is a vintage doll buggy that I converted into a rolling piece of furniture.
The basket was removed and I added the vintage soda crate on top.
It is used to hold clutter which drives me crazy;
remote controls, pens in a recycled mercury glass candle jar,
cups of coffee, tea, kleenek for the allergies……
It mostly holds things I need to keep handy when I’m working.
The stacked baskets also work as another space to set drinks, a snack, or maybe a slice of pie.
The Thursday Favs features shared perfectly sized humidors that will work for just that.
So let’s kick the features off with this creative media console.
You know how the men love to hug around the TV and do football talk….
Marie Helene from Kingsbury Brook Farm used this Beautiful Sideboard as a TV Stand.
Can you imagine a room full of family and friends gathered around
watching the games on Thanksgiving day and family curled up watching Hallmark Christmas movies?
Timeless Creations shared this Handpainted Pretty Ornate Table
that is painted with a new line of milk paint and currently being used as a bedside table.
Little pieces like this are great for setting next to sofas
and are small enough to easily move from room to room.
Doreen from Altered Artworks takes mundane things and turns them into works of art.
She gave a drab Handpainted Pretty Ornate Table a
fresh coat of paint, new hardware, and added a Parisian stencil to the top.
This is another little piece of furniture that works well in the living room
and doesn’t take up much space when your home is full of guests.
And just because I haven’t done this in a while,
The Wild Card Feature is…..
Toni from Small Home Soul shared
a Unique Kitchen Backsplash Tutorial using items from the dollar store.
If you’re looking for a quick way to add a pop of color to your kitchen
this is a perfect non-permanent project to tackle in a few hours time.
